Redondo Sycamore Neighborhood Representative
Amy is employed at LAUP as the Director of Community Engagement which seeks to build the capacity of parents in selected cities to advocate for quality services in their community. With LAUP Amy also served as the Supervisor of Workforce and Professional Development where she provided Technical Assistance to funded partners and managed an Early Care and Education Consortium that included county entities as well as over 20 colleges and universities countywide.
A native of Philadelphia, Amy has earned her BA in Political Science/Public Administration from Cal State LA, as well as a Masters Degree in Health Science/Community and Public Health Education. Additionally, Amy has worked as a Health Educator for the National Organization of Renal Disease and as a Research Associate for the Veterans Hospital-Department of Urology. Amy has taught Health Education for the School District of Philadelphia, and Los Angeles Unified School District. Amy worked as a Division Manager for California Family Health Councils managing Family Planning Programs statewide under federal funding from DHHS. In 2008, Amy began her assignment as a Program Officer for First 5 LA, where she managed funding portfolios exceeding 600M. She later assisted F5LA in managing a community investment initiative for 14 communities aimed at improving quality of life for children ages 0 to 5.
